The first flight to land at Queenstown Airport was Jetstar (JQ 295) from Auckland at 10.36am this morning after weather conditions caused disruptions, including delays and cancellations.

Mike Clay, General Manager, Operations and Safety said: “Snow started falling in the district last night. We’ve had about 20cm of snow at Queenstown Airport.  The Airport Emergency Services team worked through the night to clear the runway with the Operations ground staff arriving in the early hours to clear the roads and footpaths near the terminal,”

“If you’re travelling today please check with your airline for up to date flight information and take care when travelling to and from the airport.”
