Top tips for travelling this winter

We’re expecting a busy winter this year so wanted to share some of our top tips if you’re planning on heading away.

Give yourself plenty of time

We suggest that everyone travelling over winter gives themselves plenty of time to travel through the airport. If you are travelling domestically, arrive 60 minutes before your scheduled departure and if you are heading across the Tasman, we recommend checking in at least 2 hours prior to take off. We have some great retailers and F&B options you can enjoy before your flight.

Parking - Terminal Car Parks A and B

The terminal parks are a hop, skip and a jump away from the terminal, enabling you quick and easy access to the check-in area. Great for shorter stays and for those who are time poor.

Top tip: Why not carpool with friends or family, especially if you live in the regions. Many of those parking at the terminal are solo occupants, so do your bit for the planet and share your ride (and cost) with others.

Taxis, shuttles, and ride share apps

We’re lucky to have a range of taxi companies, ride share apps and shuttles in town who will drop you right to the door of the terminal. Give one of them a holler and book your ride before your day of travel.

Public transport

No matter where you live or stay in the Queenstown Lakes, you’re not far from a bus stop. Orbus is the $2 public bus around town and has routes including from Jacks Point, Fernhill and Arrowtown. Check-out their schedule here, jump on the bus that suits and you’ll be dropped right outside the terminal in no time.
