Landside Development Precinct

11 Mar 2026

Landside moves to improve access, flow, and mode shift to public or active transport.
Investment in Infrastructure
  • Landside Development Precinct
    • Wayfinding project to make it easy to navigate the airport
  • Airfield Development Precinct
  • Terminal Development Precinct

Seamless journeys to and from the plane

This development programme focuses on making it easier and safer for people to get to and from the terminal.

Highly regarded consultants Warren & Mahoney and Stantec have been appointed to help with urban design, considering roading and pathways, pick-up and drop-off areas, parking, active transport, and public transport connections. Rental cars are to be relocated and the Sir Henry Wigley Drive is to be widened to accommodate two-way traffic.

Comprehensive new wayfinding will guide people around the airport and terminal.

This development programme also includes the construction of a two-storey office building beside Lucas Place for the Queenstown Airport team and staff from some of our other airport partners.

  • Wayfinding project to make it easy to navigate the airport
