Overview
Queenstown Airport is changing where coaches, rental car shuttles, taxis, rideshare and other commercial transport services pick up and drop off passengers at the terminal.
From mid-December 2026, the coach park and Commercial Transfer Area that make up Zone C will move directly across the road to one integrated location next to GO Rentals. The new area will continue to be called Zone C.
The move will make way for the next stage of the terminal development and is part of HORIZON-ZQN, our longer-term programme of airport and customer experience improvements.
Where and when is Zone C moving?
The new Zone C is expected to open in mid-December 2026, ahead of the peak summer period. The exact changeover date is still to be confirmed.
Until then, all services will continue operating from the existing Zone C.
Most services will move across when the new Zone C opens. Meet & Greet and longer-wait services will remain in the existing Commercial Transfer Area through the peak Christmas period.
Construction starts 1 October
The Commercial Wait Area next to GO Rentals and around 40 spaces in Car Park A will close permanently from 1 October so construction of the new Zone C can begin.
The changes will be introduced in stages to minimise disruption. Clear signs and airport staff will be in place to help passengers when the new zone opens.
