One of the most important but least talked-about features of an airport are the bathrooms. They are heavily used and often taken for granted. They get knocked around and quickly become shabby. That's why we're about to start a major project to revamp Queenstown Airport's bathrooms.
Those that are likely to change as part of the proposals outlined in the ZQN Master Plan will get fresh paint and a refresh, while the others will get a full makeover. The project is expected to take about five months and will be completed in stages, one set of toilets at a time.
We're starting with those in the Belt 2 baggage claim area, where the clashing red lino flooring and bright green walls will be replaced with a more harmonious colour scheme, drawing inspiration from the geology of our beautiful region.
“When you're travelling and nature calls, you expect to have access to clean, functional bathrooms. We aim to exceed expectations with attractive spaces that are easy to use and maintain,” Queenstown Airport's Head of Infrastructure Delivery, Jo Learmonth, says.
The bathroom upgrade project is part of an ongoing programme to update the interior spaces of the ZQN terminal and make them more cohesive.
